Elite is an upscale strip club, and unlike the majority of upscale clubs located in the La Uruca suburb of San Jose is much closer to action in Gringo Gulch.

Elite is an upscale club and while the dancer do get totally nude it’s just a brief presentation so that you can decide if you want to drop $200 for sex in the champagne room. Of course this is Costa Rica and prostitution is legal, however due to technicalities the club will write it up as an expensive bottle of champagne.

Drinks for the ladies cost about $10 each, and you can expect to pay about $4 or $5 for your beverages. Every time you turn around there is a waiting asking you to buy a drink or offering a free salty snack of your choice.

Make a good impression with one of the dancers, buy her a couple drinks and you might get her cell phone number and be able to arrange a little session back in your hotel room after closing time. This, however doesn’t always work and if you want to take a dancer out while she is working expect to pay the club at least $200 on top of a $100 to $200 tip for the girl.

If these hundred dollar figures are making you nervous, then consider night clubs like Monaco, Le Grillon or Margaritas where you can have sex with a dancer for under $50. In fact a comparison is made in a report that includes a hidden video filmed in Elite in $20 or $300 for Sex with a Nica Stripper.

While Elite is not technically in downtown San Jose it is just a $5 taxi fare from the city center. Using a taxi to arrive at Elite is perhaps not the best idea as the club managers will pad your bill for at least $40 in order to compensate the driver with a fat commission for delivering your gringo ass to the front door.

Calling the club to coordinate pickup at your hotel might be a better idea, or perhaps you could have the taxi driver drop you off at the nearby Quiznos sub shop or any other random business on Paseo Colon that appears to be open late.

Elite is the only night club located on the Paseo Colon Map, and is not far from daytime massage places like Veronicas and Oasis where you can have sex for as little as $30.
